In 2004, Eric Holland founded what is now the Holland Law Firm. Alongside his small but mighty team of just a few at the time, members of the Holland Law Firm quickly made a name for themselves when they obtained the largest FELA verdict in Missouri history as of 2005 – a $17 million settlement for a conductor with back, neck, and head injuries.

Eric’s visionary leadership continued to pave the way forward as the Holland Law Firm team grew throughout the years, taking on American and international corporate giants. In 2007, members of the Holland Law Firm set another courtroom record, obtaining a $4 million verdict for a locomotive engineer, which was the largest FELA verdict in the history of Miami-Dade County, Florida.

Over the years, the Firm has added key people to the team who continue to build upon the firm’s legacy of record-setting results. Patrick Dowd helps direct all of the firm’s litigation, Ann Callis opened the firm’s Illinois office, and more recently, Mark Thomas and Steve Stobbs have brought decades of collective experience in asbestos litigation.

Fast forward to today, Eric and his team have built a reputation on handling and trying the largest and most important civil cases in the country, achieving record setting verdicts in courtrooms in metropolitan St. Louis and across the country. The team is continuously hired by the country’s most seriously injured railroad workers, cancer victims, catastrophic injury victims and their families, as well as a wide variety of other clients including publicly traded companies, CEOs, water districts, hospitals, villages, international companies, judges, and consumers.

$4.69 Billion Verdict for 22 Cancer Victims Exposed to Asbestos in Talcum Powder

The Holland Law Firm team achieved a groundbreaking $4.69 billion verdict against Johnson & Johnson, marking the first successful trial to connect asbestos in baby powder to ovarian cancer. The Missouri Supreme Court upheld the verdict and adjusted damages to $2.1 billion on appeal. Despite Johnson & Johnson’s appeal to the United States Supreme Court, the Court declined the case, affirming our precedent-setting win and ensuring justice for our clients.

This historic verdict is just one example of the record-breaking results we’ve achieved for clients harmed by asbestos exposure. Our attorneys have dedicated their careers to holding corporations and other entities responsible for prioritizing profit over people’s health and safety. Time and again, we’ve taken on some of the largest companies in the world and won. And these victories aren’t just about compensation; they’re about setting precedents, demanding transparency, and ensuring that those responsible for asbestos-related diseases can’t hide from the consequences of their actions. When you work with the Holland Law Firm, you gain a partner that has proven we will fight tirelessly for justice, no matter how powerful the opposition.

With decades of combined experience, the Holland Law Firm’s asbestos attorneys have dedicated their careers to standing up for individuals and families affected by asbestos exposure. Whether you’ve been exposed on the job, during military service, or even at home, asbestos exposure can have devastating effects on your health. Our team understands the seriousness of the diseases caused by asbestos, and we work tirelessly to hold every responsible party accountable.

The Holland Law Firm team is also deeply rooted in the communities where we live and work, with strong local ties that positively shape the way we serve our clients. We’ve positioned ourselves strategically, maintaining offices near the nation’s most active asbestos court dockets in Madison County, Illinois and Downtown St. Louis, Missouri. This allows our team to not only remain at the center of key developments and advocacy efforts in asbestos litigation, but to also gain trial dates more quickly compared to other jurisdictions.

While our team may not be licensed in every state, our experience, partnerships, and established presence in these critical jurisdictions allow us to support clients nationwide. No matter where you are located, we’re here to help you navigate your legal options with the care and precision you deserve in compliance with all rules of all state bar associations for cases that cannot be filed in the St. Louis area. When that is the case, the Holland Law Firm has long-standing relationships with highly qualified and thoroughly vetted local counsel throughout the country who join our fight for you at no additional out-of-pocket costs to you.
